Magical Maui

I am back, relaxed and rejuvenated from my time in Maui. A special thank you goes out to all my Entrecard readers who continued to drop in my blog while I was away. So many of you requested pictures of my trip upon my return , so rather than bore you with my stories, I will let you enjoy these images from this special island. Maui really is the best!

Aloha

I feel a little bit guilty telling you all this, but in a couple of days I am off to enjoy the sun and sandy beaches of Maui! Yes, I will be shedding my down winter jacket and boots for sleeveless tops and flip flops. Leave this frozen land of ice and snow for warm sunny days and cool ocean breezes. Ahhhh......Maui! In a couple of days, I have to squeeze this white skinned bod into a bathing suit....eeek! I love to boogie board in the warm surf, and jump the waves, and of course, "people watching", on the beach is always entertaining! I am sure we will see the humpback whales again, as they are in the warm waters giving birth at this time, and there is a lot of activity there at this time of year. So for now, I will say aloha to you all and I will be back in a couple of weeks. Pin It

Amethyst...and storytime!

Amethyst is derived from the Greek word that means "not intoxicated", and was worn to prevent drunkenness! Amethyst is the stone of St. Valentine. It is the birthstone for February, and is considered a stone of friendship. This variety of quartz also encourages spiritual wisdom, blocks negative energy and is an excellent stone for meditation and for help in dealing with a loss or an addiction. Amethyst can range in color from pale pink to a very deep purple depending on where it is found.

The greek myth surrounding amethyst is somewhat varied, but I like this one the best.

" A long time ago, Dionysus...(who is also sometimes known as Bacchus) the god of wine.................. .....fell in love with a young mortal woman, named Amethyst. However, she shunned his drunkenness and chose to worship the goddess Diana instead. In his rage and jealousy, Dionysus, ordered two voracious tigers to devour Amethyst. But the Goddess Diana, rescued her and turned Amethyst, into a beautiful statue of white quartz to save her from the tigers' claws.

Dionysus was heartbroken. His beautiful Amethyst, was lost to him forever. In his sadness, he wept tears, into his goblet of red wine. Some of the wine spilled onto the white quartz statue, turning it a purple color

Ever since, the lavender/purple variety of quartz has been called Amethyst."

THE END.

Custom bracelet

I just finished this custom order bracelet for a client. I decided to call it "Crazy"! Now there are a lot of songs by that title, done by many different artists, but in my mind I am going with Patsy Clines' version. Now I am not a big fan of country music, but there is something I just love about hearing the sweet strains of Patsy Clines' voice singing that song! She certainly had the voice of an angel. ( I don't know why all my words are being underlined as I type!*#!*!)

Crazy

I'm crazy for feelin so lonely

I'm crazy

Crazy for feelin so blue

I knew

You'd love me as long as you wanted

And then someday

You'd leave me for somebody new

Worry

Why do I let myself worry

Wondrin

What in the world did I do

Crazy

For thinkin that my love could hold you

I'm crazy for tryin

And crazy for cryin

And I crazy for lovin you
